기존의 건물은 한산한 이면도로변에 위치한 97년생 건물로 음식점을 운영하며 상부를 주택으로 이용하고 있는 상가주택의 프로그램을 가지고 있었다. 업무공간의 이미지를 고려하여 기존 상가주택의 입면을 사무소의 얼굴로 바꾸고, 공용부의 재구성을 통해 입체적이고 쾌적한 공간으로 재탄생시켰다. 5층을 목구조로 증축함으로써 좁은 공간에서 최대한의 효율을 가능케 하였고, 구조목을 내부 마감에 노출하면서 큰 창과 시너지를 발휘하여 북향의 단점을 극복한 밝고 따뜻한 공간으로 탈바꿈되었다. 일조권 제한으로 만들어져 있던 3, 4층 베란다와 더불어 5층 증축시 일조권 제한을 빗겨나간 1평 공간 또한 베란다로 남겨두었다. 도시의 주야경을 듬뿍 느낄 수 있는 그 공간은 작지만 큰 여유로움을 줄 수 있을거라 기대하며, 그 과정에서 M712는 새로운 소행성으로 진화하였다.
